When the market breaks into new lows or highs you just wait for a candle closure. If the candle body closes below the low that’s solid confirmation that the trend is likely to continue

However..what can happen instead is a ‘sweep’ which is indicated by a wick that rejects lower prices & a candle that closes higher than the low point. This can indicate that a reversal may be underway because it’s showing us new buying pressure entering a market & fighting back at the selling that is taking place

Failure to break a low like this shows that the market dynamic may be shifting from predominant selling into predominant buying which can keep you clear of sell trades (avoiding a loss) and set you up for potential buy trades (a new opportunity).
