Climbing the Barranco Wall on Kilimanjaro — Steeper Than It Looks

Описание: The Barranco Wall is one of the most talked-about sections of the Kilimanjaro Lemosho route, and now I understand why. This 843-foot near-vertical rock scramble looks intimidating from the bottom, but it's more exhilarating than terrifying once you're on it. No ropes needed, but you're definitely using your hands and watching every foothold.

This was Day 5 of our 8-day Lemosho route trek in September 2025. We'd slept at Barranco Camp (12,990 ft) the night before and started the morning with this scramble before continuing to Karanga Camp. Our guides from XPATS International assisted at the tricky sections and made sure everyone got up safely.

My wife April loved this part. I was just trying not to look down.
