How to Become a Driving Instructor in Ireland - How to Pass all 3 Stages with us at Ladybird Driving School - https://ladybirddrivingschool.ie/driv...
Welcome to ladybird driving schools ADI training team.
If you are watching this video, then you're already researching who is best placed to train you for any of the ADI stages 1, 2 or 3.
The next 4 minutes will leave you in no doubt as to what the stages are and where to train as an ADI.
My name is Kevin Horgan and my colleagues of Nadine George, Angela Moffatt and Colm Brannigan, they will shortly explain to you what stage 1 2 and 3 of the ADI process is.
Collectively we are some of the highest qualified instructors in Ireland and indeed Europe.
We have an unmatched record in driving instructor training and our ADI pass rate is close to 98%
Later ill be explaining about our trainee licence programme and our unique post qualification syllabus.
So whats involved in stage 1 2 and 3 we will start with stage 1 Angela.
One of our Unique selling points is our trainee licence system which allows a trainee instructor to train under the guidance of a qualified ADI after passing stage 2.
All of our trainee instructors can avail of this and it helps with their development and preparation on the way to their full qualification stage 3.
Our second unique selling point is our post qualification training syllabus and support available to all qualified instructors which continually assesses, develops and trains our instructors even after they have qualified.
Again thanks for taking the time to watch this video and we know from what you have just seen that you know that the Ladybird ADI unit is the place you need to call.
We assess your driving on our initial lesson with you and advise you what will be needed for you to pass the test.Typically it takes 8-12 hours training depending on the level to pass stage 2.
Until we meet in person we wish you safe driving.

STAGE 1
So stage 1 is the adi theory test of approximately 100 questions of which 75% over all is the pass score. The exam is split into 5 categories as you can see on the screen
Driver testing procedures
Road safety practices
Pedagogy
Mechanical principles and the member category itself which for you its category B.
We have spent many many hours compiling this theory syllabus that we have here as you can see and we have everything you need right here for you to study, pass and move on to stage 2.
STAGE 2
Stage 2 then is an advanced driving test of around 1 hour and 15 minutes long on all road types including
Motorways
Rural roads
Dual carriageways and you must also demonstrate expert handling and practical knowledge of the vehicle and high levels of concentration are needed.
You must also demonstrate expert ability while reversing around a left and right corner.
There will be an emergency stop, a turnabout and parallel parking at various stages of the stage 2 exam.
STAGE 3
Stage 3 is a test of your Instructional ability and is split into two phases, both of which take place on the same day.
The ADI Examiner usually plays the part of a “beginner” learner driver in Phase One and a more “advanced” learner in Phase Two.
He will randomly pick two scenarios and will mark your performance based on a series of competencies, 16 of which are called “core competencies”.
The aim is to demonstrate all the core competencies and as many of the additional competencies over the course the two phases. Each phase will last approx. 30 minutes.
What do we do for you?
We ensure that you understand all the competencies and how to demonstrate them. Over approx.
18 hours of training we equip you with the knowledge to deliver all the scenarios that may arise.
We deliver a structured programme of training and mock tests to guarantee your success.
