For the 2020 National Public Gardens Week, held by the American Public Gardens Association, see the story of the Shofuso Historic Landscape Restoration 2020 Pebble Beach Installation as a five-part video series, May 8, and ending on Sunday, May 17.
Part 1, "History," tells the origin of the new pebble beach at Shofuso, which will be unveiled in 2020, from the inspiration of the Kamo River in Kyoto, Japan to the inclusion of a pebble beach in Tansai Sano's original 1957 landscape plan for Shofuso, which were recently rediscovered in our archives.
