In a heavyweight clash of unbeaten powers, No. 1 Rome extended its reign with a 28-14 win over No. 4 Dutchtown in the Class 5A quarterfinals, marking the Wolves’ 40th consecutive victory. Georgia Tech signee Jamious Griffin powered Rome with 230 rushing yards, while Virginia Tech commit Knox Kadum accounted for three touchdowns. Despite a strong performance from Alabama signee Will Anderson, Dutchtown couldn’t overcome the defending two-time state champs.
