This is the non-360 version of my walk, filmed in a calm, steady style for viewers who enjoy a peaceful, cinematic journey through one of the New Forest’s most beautiful woodland areas.

Join me for a peaceful loop around Moonhills, one of the New Forest’s beautifully open heathland areas near Beaulieu. This walk blends wide, sweeping views with stretches of quiet woodland, giving you a real taste of the Forest’s varied landscapes in a short, easy-to-enjoy route.

As you explore Moonhills, you’ll pass through expanses of purple heather (late summer), stands of ancient pines, and gently undulating grazing turf where New Forest ponies often wander freely. It’s a fantastic spot for photography, birdwatching, and simply soaking in the calm of the National Park.

This area is rich with wildlife — from stonechats and pipits calling across the heath to deer and free-roaming ponies grazing in the clearings. The landscape here has been shaped for centuries by traditional commoning, which keeps these open habitats thriving.

If you enjoy quieter corners of the Forest away from the tourist hotspots, Moonhills is a perfect choice.
