Could you win a game of "Street Fighter"...using only the sound? That's how Sven van de Wege plays.
The Dutch man lost his sight at the age of 6 after a battle with cancer, and feared he'd never be able to play video games again. But now he's good enough that he can play without sight. He's learned the distinct sound of each move so that he can react to attacks in milliseconds.
Now, he's competing on one of gaming's biggest stages, playing his first-ever professional match. His opponent watched as van de Wege countered attacks, landing fatal blows until he was the only fighter left standing.
Van de Wege hopes to inspire other visually impaired gamers, and wants to set up gaming workshops for the blind.
