The Richters (Mónica & PoL) is a Berlin-based photography and filmmaking duo documenting weddings across Europe and internationally. For over 20 years, Moni & PoL have worked with a documentary approach, capturing real moments, human connection, and emotional truth rather than staging or poses. Their style blends alternative and avant‑garde sensibilities, combining digital and analogue formats (35 mm, medium format, Polaroid, Super 8, VHS) to create images with texture, depth, and permanence.
Every project is built from scratch — no templates, no formulas — shaped around the people and the natural energy of each day. They take on only 10–12 weddings per year to ensure each story receives the time and attention it deserves.
Alongside weddings, their practice moves between art and culture, with work exhibited in galleries, published in magazines, and presented at festivals. They also teach and speak at conferences, contributing to the professional community as educators as well as makers.
Based in Berlin, they work regularly across Spain, the UK, Italy, and France, and take on a limited number of international commissions each year, including occasional work in the United States and New York.
They collaborate primarily with creative, culturally engaged couples who value authenticity, art, and experience over convention, producing photographs and films that feel personal, honest, and unmistakably their own.
