Heeseon An is currently an Assistant Member of the Chemical Biology Program at the Sloan Kettering Institute, MSKCC. She completed her bachelor's and master's degrees in organic chemistry at Seoul National University in South Korea and later earned her Ph.D. in the chemical biology of ubiquitin under the guidance of Professor Alexander Statsyuk at Northwestern University in 2015. Following her Ph.D., she joined the laboratory of Professor Wade Harper at Harvard Medical School, where she expanded her training in protein degradation pathways and proteomics as a postdoctoral fellow. She then joined the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in January 2021. At MSKCC, the An lab studies the mechanisms of protein degradation in health and disease by leveraging multidisciplinary research approaches that encompass chemistry, biology, and proteomics.
