As of February 3, 2026, the LSU Tigers women’s basketball team finds itself in a strong and
competitive position in the Southeastern Conference race. Under the leadership of head coach Kim
Mulkey, LSU continues to prove why it remains one of the most respected programs in college
basketball.
LSU entered the week ranked among the nation’s top teams, carrying an impressive overall record
and a strong conference showing. The Tigers are firmly positioned near the top of the SEC
standings, locked in a tight battle with perennial contenders such as South Carolina, Tennessee,
and Texas. Every remaining game now carries major implications for both the SEC title and NCAA
Tournament seeding.
The Tigers made a powerful statement in their most recent outing, delivering a commanding
103–63 victory over Alabama at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. From the opening tip, LSU
controlled the pace, overwhelming Alabama with relentless defense, fast breaks, and efficient
shooting. The Tigers shot over 50 percent from the field and showcased their depth, with
contributions coming from across the roster.
