Mistakes happen... I made a doozy when I glued a table apron in upside down. Luckily for me I like to use Liquid Hide Glue when doing furniture building. My reasoning behind that is should the piece ever need to be repaired it's reversible. Total time heating and steaming the piece was about 30 minutes.
I should note I immediately glued it back together before my tenon could warp on me from the exposure to a lot of moisture and heat.
