The Kingdoms of the Dump

The Kingdoms of the Dump rises from a sprawling wasteland of twisted metal and forgotten things, a patchwork empire built from the castoffs of a world that no longer remembers what it throws away. Towers of rusted appliances lean like ancient monuments, their surfaces carved with the graffiti of generations. The air hums with the sound of scavenger-winds sliding through broken vents and hollow pipes, creating an eerie, ever-changing music.

At the heart of the kingdom stands Scrapspire, a colossal mountain of crushed vehicles, shattered circuitry, and sun-bleached plastics. From its summit, smoke and steam curl upward as the kingdom’s self-appointed rulers—tinkerers, salvagers, and the occasional mechanical creature given life by accident—oversee their rugged domain.

The inhabitants are masters of repurposing. What others see as trash, they see as potential: armor hammered from street signs, tools reforged from engine parts, homes built inside the ribcages of old buses or the shells of shipping containers. Creativity is currency here, and the most respected citizens are those who can coax function from the apparently useless.

The kingdom is not without beauty. When the sun sets, the heaps of glass shards catch the last light and scatter it in a mosaic of fractured rainbows. Nights glow with bioluminescent fungi thriving in the shadows of decay, and constellations of firefly-sized drones drift lazily between mounds, the forgotten toys of a richer world now serving as lanterns.

To outsiders, the Kingdom of the Dump is a wasteland.
To its people, it is a realm of rebirth—a place where nothing is beyond repair, where ruin becomes resource, and where the discarded can rise again.
