Song structure is more than just "the order you put things in." When taken seriously, the arrangement you choose can have a ripple effect of awesomeness that touches other elements of your song. Important ones too– like the story, dynamics, emotion, delivery and memorability (just to name a few!).

The only trouble is, it can be difficult to turn music into a song. Have you felt this before? Maybe you’ve got some vibes or demos going, but they never really become the song you know they could be– because you don’t know how to structure what you’ve created?

There are so many arrangement tips and endless examples of ways to structure things. There are some traditional "best practices" to follow for sure, but there's also some established rules to break. It also largely depends on the genre of music you're making and the goals you have for those songs.

It's time to combine the "book smarts" with some "street smarts." In part 2 of my new YouTube series, Making A Song Start to Finish, I’m going to break down a killer arrangement method and show you in a beginner friendly way just how simple a DAW makes it for you to arrange and structure your songs.

And yes, the DAW I personally use is Logic Pro X. So in this series, that's what I'll be creating in. BUT, everything is just as applicable and doable in the DAW you're rocking with. I promise you. Just pay attention to the steps I take and the reasoning behind them, then simply mirror that in your own music software!
