What's the difference?
Gold Plating is a method of covering another type of metal with a very thin film of gold so this can chip, fade and tarnish easily. Gold filled on the other hand is has thicker plating. It has a thicker sheet of gold applied to a base metal so this retains the color longer approx 5-10 years or longer depending on care.
