Our feet tend to swell during pregnancy, and our feet tend to enlarge during pregnancy, and the extra weight gain and such cause extra pressures through our feet. So I advise a lot of my females, when we're considering getting pregnant, when we're pregnant, or throughout that process, particularly in the third trimester, maybe be fitted for orthotics, or even some off the shelf orthotics, to help support those changes that our feet are undergoing, and it helps prevent some long term effects that we have just through the process of being pregnant and our feet widening and lengthening and the swelling, and then even for up to a year after delivery. It's important, because as our hormones evolve, you know that six month to eight month process where our hair falls out after childbirth, our feet are still changing, so that's one of the things I address with some of my female patients who've been pregnant.
