Описание: The Supreme Court has sought a detailed response from the Delhi government on how the city’s Air Quality Index is measured after allegations that water was sprinkled near monitoring stations to distort readings.

A Bench led by CJI BR Gavai asked the government to file an affidavit explaining the equipment and efficiency of monitors. Concerns were also raised over stubble-burning data, regulatory failures, and the rising health risks from pollution. The court emphasized the need for coordinated action between the Centre and states like Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. The matter will next be heard on November 19.
