Rage and pain surged through me. My chest tightened, and I stumbled into the living room, searching for my medicine. The bottle I had carefully kept was nowhere to be found. Then I remembered. Earlier, when we quarreled, Ethan had knocked everything over, and one of the bottles had rolled out of the window. That bottle had been the very one keeping me alive.
