"The Crescent and the Cross: Understanding Islam"
Gain insights into the Islamic faith, a religion of profound devotion and monotheism. We will clear up common misconceptions about jihad, Sharia, and the role of Muhammad, drawing parallels and contrasts with Christian teachings on love, law, and prophecy.
Returning to play for us this Sunday is Thompson Howell, guest organist along with Sam Yoon, violinist who will both provide music and accompaniment throughout the service. Our Chancel Choir anthem is David Haas’ You Are Mine arranged for choir by Mark Hayes. This popular David Haas song has quickly risen to the top as one of the most important hymn contributions of the last decade. The scripturally rich words, sung in the first person as though by God, are filled with hope and assurance, And our soprano section leader/soloist Shannon Miller will be singing the Craig Courtney arrangement of Take My Life. This lovely song reminds us of the importance of servitude and the amazing work Christ can do through us. Come this Sunday to learn, to be inspired, and to participate in the song.
