Snapshots from my first New Years Eve party at Catalina Casino. This definitely a bucket list item in Southern California.
Formal attire is required so you have the chance to get very dressed up then dance eat and drink until the balloon drop at midnight. Avalon on Catalina is so small you can just walk back to your hotel or call for a golf cart taxi.
It is a one-of-a-kind place in California. It is also a fantastic place to learn to scuba dive! It was pretty rainy this year so our golf and hiking plans were rained out, but we loved learning how to make clay tiles, bar hopping and just relaxing.
I hope you make it out to Catalina soon. You can take a ferry from Newport Beach or Long Beach. FYI Long Beach ferries travel more times per day so I would recommend that if you are not staying overnight.
No cars on the ferry or the island, but you can rent a golf cart or an e-bike when you get there. Happy travels!
