JFK: Clayton Fowler (Jack Ruby)

Описание: CLAYTON FOWLER was an attorney who has represented Jack RUBY in the past and presently shares office space with Mr. C. A. DROBY, another attorney who has represented RUBY and who was called to represent RUBY in this case, but did not accept the employment.

FOWLER stated that he has known JACK RUBY in the past and does not believe that RUBY committed the murder of OSWALD from patriotic motives. He may have done it for publicity or to raise himself socially in the eyes of the public and his friends. He stated that Mr. DROBY feels the same way and made the statement, "There is no way that RUBY. could be as loyal as he is claiming.

FOWLER stated that he feels that the case will receive a great amount of unfavorable publicity for the country since it now appears that TOM HOWARD, an attorney, will represent RUBY and it is a well-known fact that TOM HOWARD was convicted in Federal Court in Dallas for failure to file income tax returns and was disbarred by the Texas Bar Association in view of this.

It is also well known that TOM HOWARD divorced his wife and married the widow of the well-known late gambler, CHICKEN FERRANTELLO, who was murdered in Dallas by a woman.

Mr. FOWLER stated further that another attorney, Mr. PHIL BURLESON, told him that he had received a call from someone in show business concerning hiring him to represent RUBY. BURLESON has recently resigned from Dallas County District Attorney's Office, and has entered private law practice. BURLESON decided after discussing the case with him not to get into it.
