Описание: The Var River, which rises near Entraunes and the Col de la Cayolle, runs south for about 115 km to the Mediterranean Sea. Between the towns of Guillaumes in the north and Entrevaux in the south, the river has created an impressive landscape.

The bridge Pont de Berthéon marks approximately the southern beginning of the steepest and most beautiful part of the gorge, which ends at the bridge Pont de la Marieé north a few km before Guillaumes. The rock walls here plunge vertically up to 300 meters to the valley floor. The intense red, or reddish-brown color of the rocks contrasts sharply with the green scrub vegetation. Deep below, the Var River flows, its roar reflected off the rock walls. Every bend offers a new perspective and a new impressive view.

On the west side of the valley or gorge "Gorges de Daluis" runs a road that connects the towns of Guillaumes and Entrevaux. Most of the road runs along a former railroad line; the tunnels also date from this period of use. At the northern end of the gorge is the former railroad bridge Pont de la Mariée (Bridge of the Bride), which is open to pedestrians and provides a good view of the depths. Legend tells of a young bride who threw herself to her death from this bridge on her wedding night to escape her unloved husband.
