Two millionth made-in-China Tesla model rolls off production line at Shanghai Gigafactory

Описание: The 2 millionth made-in-China Tesla car rolled off production line at the company’s Shanghai Gigafactory on Wednesday, marking a new milestone both for Tesla and China’s NEV industry.

The first million took the factory some 30 months, while the second only took 13.

Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory started construction, production and completed delivery in 2019, and now has accumulated 200 million cars, both of which make it the most efficient Gigafactory of Tesla.

In the meantime, it has also contributed greatly - directly and indirectly - to the development and innovation of the automobile industry in Shanghai and surrounding regions.

Over the first eight months of 2023, Tesla Shanghai Gigafactory has delivered over 600,000 vehicles, surpassing the total of 2021. It has now become an export center for Tesla cars, and Tesla cars from Shanghai are sold across the world, including Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America markets.

In fact, on the same day, about 4,000 Tesla cars are being loaded at Nangang Wharf, not far away from the Gigafactory, and will be shipped to the port of Southampton in the UK.

In the Lingang New Area, where the Tesla Gigafactory is located, a secure, independent and regulatable NEV industrial chain has been established. It is planned that by 2025, the NEV industry in Lingang will surpass 300 billion yuan (about 41.1 billion USD) and become an important global industrial center.
