12 volt solar battery bank using 6 volt golf cart batteries DIY

Описание: We start with six 6V, 190 Ah batteries. By wiring in series-parallel we end up with a single 12V, 570 Ah battery equivalent to 6840 W of stored power. But they are lead acid, so only about half that capacity is available, so we divide by 2 and end up with a useable 12V 285 Ah battery with 3420 W of available power. This is approximately equivalent in available power to a 12V, 300 Ah LiFePO4 battery (as I stated in the video).

But of course the LiFePO4 battery would provide many more cycles of service! But the truth is, we bought an old 36V electric golf cart that had these 1-year old batteries that by all measures are in great shape. As we are converting the cart to a single 48V LiFePO4 battery, we decided to use these in a DIY solar generator for our Tiki Hut and see how long they last. It is an experiment!
