Alicante is a city that sounds quite exotic, at least to us, perhaps because it represents the gateway to the Costa Blanca, the coast of Spain with long and wide beaches, guarded by tall palm trees and awarded with the famous blue flag.
Any visit to Alicante starts with the famous Santa Barbara castle. And if it doesn't start with it, it's still on the list somehow, because it can be seen from every corner of the city, being perched high up, on some rocks – practically, it's a mountain, Benacantil, about 166 meters high.
