Drivers who travel north on the 1st Avenue South Bridge in Seattle should prepare for longer commute times and explore different routes starting Monday morning.
All of the bridge's northbound lanes will close for three days while the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) begins repairs to the bridge's north deck after inspectors found several cracks.
The closure will run from 5 a.m. Monday through 8 p.m. Wednesday.
During the March 9-11 closure, WSDOT said crews will install steel plates over the cracks and weld them into the bridge. Two of the bridge's northbound lanes were already closed to traffic on Feb. 18.
