Large Dry Well Installed to Fix Flooding (U.S. Tennis Court Drainage)

Описание: Flooding near tennis courts and large paved areas is a common stormwater issue in U.S. neighborhoods. In this project we installed a large dry well to capture and control runoff safely underground. This real U.S. installation shows how we fix severe stormwater problems.

This home features a beautiful tennis court with an open French drain that originally emptied into a dry well. Over time, that old system began failing—likely due to a rising water table since it was first installed 25 years ago.

To solve the problem, we installed a brand-new 1,300-gallon recharge system set above the current water table to ensure proper drainage and long-term performance. We also regraded the surrounding yard using the excess soil, improving both water flow and the overall landscape.

💧 What is a Dry Well?
A dry well is an underground structure that collects and disperses stormwater runoff into the soil, helping prevent flooding and erosion. It's often connected to gutters, downspouts, and catch basins, and filled with gravel or stone for subsurface infiltration. As the water percolates into the ground, it helps with groundwater recharge and reduces excess runoff.
