SAN GABRIEL, Calif., Oct. 29 (KNN) – San Gabriel police officers and the San Gabriel Fire Department responded to a traffic collision involving a sheared fire hydrant at the intersection of South Gladys Avenue and East Wells Street around 1 a.m. on Tuesday.
Witnesses reported that the suspect fled the scene after crashing into a nearby fence on residential property. Fortunately, the pickup truck did not hit the house.
Firefighters managed to shut off the water within 5 to 10 minutes of arriving at the scene.
At this time, it is unclear if speed or alcohol was a factor in the incident.
