I've always had a fascination for aircraft and aerial photography, especially old aerial photos of my hometown, so this collection was inevitable at some point.
You can see so much more from above, and changes over time are more obvious from the air, with everything laid out like a map. In this video you will see industrial Lincoln before the large uphill estates were built, and see some of the housing on Boultham Moor being laid out. There are photos of the long gone Bracebridge gasworks, and the Stamp End power station sneaks into a few shots too. There are several photos showing where my house is off Brant Road when it was all fields.
I had considered putting captions on the photos, but most of them are undated and it is difficult to make captions clearly readable over photos, and hopefully people will enjoy working things out for themselves like I did :)
Strictly speaking the photo of Pelham bridge being built isn't an aerial photo as it was probably shot from a crane, but it is an aerial perspective?
