Amidst the global struggle for control of energy, Invisible Wars, a feature-length documentary essay, explores through two radiation “accidents” that occurred in Mexico (1984) and Brazil (1987) and the nuclear disasters in Chornobyl* (1986) and Fukushima (2011), how our voracious consumption has deepened social and economic inequality as radiation has become another weapon in our war for survival.
The film is based on the testimonies of the people who lived through the accidents and seeks an intimate, personal approach to the narrative on the use of nuclear energy and radiation.
Through these four accidents, combined in a single story, the film reflects on time and delves into the everyday lives, feelings and thoughts of ordinary people in the atomic age.

This is a film about hope and resistance. About humans rediscovering themselves in order to build a better world.
*Chornobyl is Ukrainian. Being Chernobyl the Russian name, Ukrainians no longer want to use it.
