Sterlitech CF042 Cell

The CF042 cell is a bench-scale cross/tangential flow cell that provides fast and accurate performance data with minimal amounts of membrane, product, expense or time. Available in Delrin, Stainless Steel, or Hastelloy for high pressure operation and PTFE or Acrylic for low pressure operation. All cells are compatible with our kits, benchtop systems, and skid systems.

To set up our CF042 Cell, I’ve got an 11/16 inch wrench, a ⅝ inch wrench, and a 5/32 inch Allen key.

We need to use this adapter plate when attaching the CF042 Cell to our benchtop skid system.

To do that, we’re going to start by removing these fittings at the bottom with our ⅝ inch and 11/16 inch wrench.

We’re going to stick to our base plate here.

Slide the cell on that top point and pull it out, set that aside.

From here we’re going to take the base plate, adapter plate, and a couple of ¼-20 flathead screws that come in your fasteners kit.

Thread those through to attach them together.

This is where your Allen key comes in. Use the Allen key to thread in the screws.

Then we’re going to slide our cell and the top plate back on, place the nuts.

Then we’re going to connect our inlet and outlet elbows.

Your CF042 Cell connection kit comes with two sections of ⅜ inch stainless steel hose.

I’d like to connect each of these to our cell before we bring this over to our benchtop unit.

Flip our cell over and insert the tube end of each of the hoses into the fittings.

Make sure these nuts are hand tight.

Then we’re going to set the ferrules in each of the fittings using the ⅝ inch wrench to hold the elbow in place and the 11/16 inch wrench to get that top nut a 1 ¼ turn to set the ferrule.

Let’s place the CF042 on the top plate and line up the holes.

Secure it using the two ¼ pan head screws that come with the bolts kit.

Thread them by hand to start and tighten them with a 5/32 Allen key.

Now let’s connect the inlet and the outlet hoses.

The outlet is going to connect to the port on the left. We should get these nuts hand tight.

These fittings have been swaged. If you haven’t swaged your fittings yet, you will need to insert the tube stub and give it a 1 ¼ turn.

Once these are hand tight, we’re going to use an 11/16 inch wrench and just give it about a 1/8th to a ¼ turn to snug it up. Just like that, all hooked up.
