It's September 15, 2012. We've had our first beehive since April 21. Earlier in the week Brad McClincy, the apiary inspector, came over and said the hive looked good, however, he found a moderate Varroa mite infestation. He recommended treating the mites and removing the approximately 1 gallon of honey he thinks is in the hive. Then he said to feed sugar syrup to the hive until the bees have packed their honeycomb full with it.
Sammy H. filmed the videos.
Barry Conrad ( www.hiveandhoney.com ) sold us the Hop Guard Varroa mite treatment.
