The first step to getting within my means was to set up and utilise the envelope system. This was a successful method for me more than 20 years ago. Unfortunately I didn’t keep it up and bad spending habits crept in.

Revisiting the envelope system for budgeting method 5 years ago, I saw how I could use technology as a support system to have the cashless envelope system.
