we commend Charlie into Your hands—the one who courageously stood for the truth.
Please comfort his family; keep the heart of his wife and their two young children in Your peace.
Rekindle within us the flame of love for freedom, reverence for life, and the upholding of honor and responsibility.
Teach us to speak what is true with gentleness, to defend the right of others to raise their voices,
and to serve our community with humility.
Turn our grief into strength for building,
turn anger into mercy,
and turn fear into a faith that trusts.
May our lives continue the good he guarded:
freedom with charity, faith with justice,
families sheltered, the vulnerable defended.
