it’s incredible that up until recently we’ve mostly seen clothes modeled on very tall flamboyant naturals. Brands are catching on and expanding their range of models and including more user reviews.

I recently rented this Compact Jersey Square Neck Dress by Proenza Schouler. I loved the interesting strapping, neckline, detail and thick, cozy fabric.

scrolling through the user reviews, I saw one of a woman saying “I didn’t feel like myself in this dress.”
I can see what she means. The dress wore her down and looked matronly. For me, the dress hugged my curves beautifully, and made me look womanly. It’s not that I have a “better body” than her. and her other reviews she’s killing it. She’s likely a Gamine. As a Soft Dramatic, most of her other outfits would look trashy on me.

Moral of the story it’s not about being skinny enough or having your body look a certain way to have that “wow factor.” It’s about discovering what works for you.
