BiS: Best in Slot means that item is the best out of all of the items relative to its type (i.e. Weapon, Ability, Armor, or Ring). In a Hierarchy of Loot, it DOES mean that, but I also use it to highlight that the BiS'd item is also an overall good item for the majority of builds. Ex: Amulet of Restoration literally saves your life, so that would be something to use on all builds of all classes. Lastly, sometimes BiS'd items are BiS ONLY when paired with other items that make it stronger.
