Bass-baritone vs Pavarotti… can I keep up?
I’ve always been classified as a bass-baritone, and while that label helps define my comfortable range and vocal fach, this video is about challenging the idea of being put into a box vocally. We all have a natural home base, but does that mean we have to stay there forever? Must we never explore new repertoire or push our limits? Does our range change as we age/build our technique?
I know my larynx is still a bit too high in this clip, and some vowels need tweaking to get the sound exactly where I want it. There’s definitely a lot more practice ahead, but I wanted to share this part of my progress with you all.
For me, singing is about growth, curiosity, and breaking boundaries—one note at a time.
