I know there’s lots of confusion among artists about this topic, but frankly, I was surprised by the hundreds of questions I received. I’ll try to address all of them in this video series, or in a series of accompanying blog articles that will come out over the next few weeks.

So welcome to the first video in our series on The Basics of Music Copyrights and Royalties, where I try to describe in simple terms the complexities of music rights. In today’s video, I discuss these common questions:

What are the 5 most common uses of – and royalties due for – your music?

Then, in future videos, I will delve into more detail about these various royalties, including who collects them and how you get paid.
