TRU Update: Deighton Station Build, Ravensthorpe Viaduct Progress & Ridge Road Bridge Closure

Описание: In this TransPennine Route Upgrade (TRU) update we take a look at several key locations across West Yorkshire and beyond, capturing new progress on major railway infrastructure projects.

We begin at Deighton Station, where we managed to capture never-before-seen views of the station construction, despite difficult weather conditions preventing drone flights in some areas. By finding a new vantage point, we get a rare look at how the new station is taking shape.

Next we head to Colne Bridge Road Bridge and the Heaton Lodge Sewage Works bridge replacement, where we take a closer ground-level look at the ongoing bridge works.

At Ravensthorpe, the scale of the new Ravensthorpe Viaduct becomes clearer as pillars begin to rise from the cofferdams, marking another major milestone in the project. There is also further evidence of the dismantling of the old Ravensthorpe station as work continues across the site.

Later in the video we travel further east to Micklefield, where we spot something unusual — a rare diversion of an LNER Azuma service heading to London King’s Cross, routed this way due to signalling faults between Leeds and Doncaster.

We also take a look at Ridge Road Bridge, which is now closed as preparations begin for its dismantling, with excavators already working on the structure and a construction compound being prepared.

The TransPennine Route Upgrade continues to transform the railway across the north of England, and this video captures some of the latest developments along the route.
