Winter is fading, and it's time to say goodbye to the Queen of Frost. ❄️🌱
In today’s video, I’m painting Morana, the Slavic Goddess of Winter and Death.
To the ancient Slavs, Morana represented the harsh truth of the cycle. She begins the year as a beautiful goddess of frost and ends it as a withered hag, carrying away the old year to make room for the new. In some parts of the Eastern Europe, people still burn and drown her effigy to welcome the spring.
- Death is just a season. And winter is her throne.
