1) Screening: The surrogate candidate provides information about herself to see if she is a possible candidate for gestational surrogacy. In this phase the candidate will know that she is prepared to deliver the baby to the intended parents.

2) Matching: The expectations of both the intended parents have, regarding the person who will be carrying their child, and those of the surrogate mother are brought together, to see if the process fits them both.

3) Legal: The rights and obligations of the intended parents as well as the surrogate mother, are clearly defined through a Gestational Service Agreement. Here both parties agree to the terms of the surrogacy process, and they are individually represented by their own legal counsel.

4) Medical: Only after the legal aspect has been settled, the medical phase begins by preparing the surrogate’s body to receive the embryo transfer. Once received, the surrogate goes through a natural pregnancy, and delivers the child to his/her parents
