More sophisticated weighing is done in a closed box to avoid the effects of air currents. The isosceles lever balance is simple and very responsive with a well-designed lever suspension; the disadvantage is the sensitivity to shocks and the need for a set of weights.

The isosceles scales belong to the oldest ones, and very precious stones for gems have been known since prehistoric times. The isosceles scales are also a symbol of justice and already in ancient Egyptian reliefs there is a motif of weighing souls after death, very widespread in the High Middle Ages in Europe. Pancake recipe

Ingredients:

salt
300 g plain flour
2 eggs
500 ml milk
