Treasure Rush With Longest Road Battle | Ep 06 | Catan (Seafarers) | Oases | 4 Players

Описание: Catan Seafarers on The Oases scenario with four players. I went first and built the entire game plan around treasure hunting, fast road extension, and winning the key intersections before the board got choked off.

Opening placements were strong for road tempo and early production. My first settlement was on 2 wheat, 6 wood, and 10 brick. My second settlement was on 11 sheep and 6 sheep, and it also gave me the sheep trading port. From the start, Grey and I were contesting the same road direction from my sheep side, so I committed to winning that lane and did.

My focus was uncovering hidden treasure spaces. I extended from the sheep side toward the center and the closest treasure. Blue jumped to 3 points early by upgrading to a city, but I used my first treasure to extend my road and then traded for more brick to keep pushing. That line secured Longest Road, brought me to 4, and put me in the lead. I followed by placing another settlement on my 10 brick area to increase my card flow for continued road building, bringing me to 5 while Blue was at 3.

The midgame became a race for high value intersections and gold. I placed another settlement on a 3 stone and 11 gold space to move to 6 while everyone else sat around 3. On the next turn I had the resources for two settlements but only one workable spot, so I placed it on a 10 sheep and kept extending toward a 12 gold space.

With multiple settlements firing, hand management started to matter. I hit 12 cards at one point, well over the robber threshold, but I was able to trade down and place another road just in time. The robber rolled shortly after, so that trade timing saved me.

Pink was racing me to the same premium intersection, 6 wood, 11 gold, and 12 gold, but I got there first. At that stage I was at 9 points while the others were around 3 to 4. Then Pink temporarily stole Longest Road, which dropped me down and pulled the scoreline closer. I bought a development card and pulled a Knight, and I pivoted my road direction because Pink and Grey were starting to cut off my original lanes. Blue also tried to contest my new direction, but I won that advancement too.

Treasure hunting continued to pay off, including a Year of Plenty development card and additional resources that kept my build moving. I reclaimed Longest Road and converted the lead into cities. I upgraded the 11 and 12 gold area to a city, upgraded my 10 brick, 6 wood, and 2 wheat to a city as well, and pushed myself back into a strong lead.

Spoiler, results: I won with 12 points. The finish came after using Year of Plenty to pull stone and convert one more settlement into a city to close the game.
