In this February 2026 Info Session, HBRACC, MassHire Cape & Islands Career Center, and Skilled Purpose share how employers can access pre-screened, job-ready talent through a structured carpentry training and job placement program based at the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office Bridge Center.

What You’ll Learn in This Session:
How the Skilled Purpose 12-week carpentry training program works
The step-by-step process: training → job readiness → interview → hire
State tax credits, bonding programs & employer incentives
How candidates are screened (multi-stage vetting, interviews, CORI checks, sobriety & stability requirements)
What post-hire support looks like (30/60/90-day follow-ups)
How employers can help shape the curriculum to meet real job-site needs

Graduates receive training in:

✔ Tool use & jobsite etiquette
✔ Professional readiness

This program also provides case management and wraparound support, helping address housing, transportation, food insecurity, and recovery services to improve long-term job success.
