Parks for all people was one of Frederick Law Olmsted’s guiding principles. Nearly 200 years before the environmental justice movement, he designed parks as democratic spaces. Today, in too many places, these public spaces are under attack, viewed as building sites where access can be limited to those with money and power. This webinar examined distressing trends across the country and what can be done to ensure parkland is viewed as an essential public amenity.
This panel discussion was moderated by writer Bonnie Jean Feldkamp (Louisville, KY) and featured Derrick Evans (Boston, MA), Brenda Nelms (Chicago, IL) and Wyman Winston (Milwaukee, WI).
