How to Make the Perfect Cake Pop Dough

RECIPE FOR CAKE DOUGH


Vanilla:

1 box vanilla Duncan Hines
1 small box instant vanilla pudding
3 eggs
1 C water
1 C sour cream
1 C flour
1 C sugar
1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp almond extract

Mix eggs and sugar
Add in sour cream, flour, and extracts
Alternate adding cake mix and water
Add pudding last (thickens quickly)
Mix thoroughly and pour into cake pan immediately
Bake@325° 50-65 mins


Chocolate:

1 box devil’s food Duncan Hines
1 small box instant chocolate pudding
3 eggs
1 C water
1 C sour cream
1 C flour
1 C sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp espresso powder

Mix eggs, sugar, and espresso powder**
Add in sour cream, flour, and vanilla extract
Alternate adding cake mix and water
Add pudding last (thickens quickly)
Mix thoroughly and pour into cake pan immediately
Bake@350° 50-65 mins
**If you do not have espresso powder, replace water with 1C strong coffee

CAKE DOUGH METHOD

As soon as the cake comes out of the oven, cover the top of the cake pan with foil
Let sweat for 10 mins
Take foil off and place the entire cake in kitchen aid mixer
With paddle attachment, mix cake until it sticks together and resembles dough
When your dough sticks together, place on the counter and wrap in cellophane
Leave to sweat in cellophane on the counter for at least 8 hours
Congrats! You’ve made cake dough!
