Staad launches all new electric wheeled excavator at Bauma

Описание: Retrofit specialist Staad has put all its experience and knowledge of over 200 machine conversions into its own 14 tonne STAAD 17w Wheeled Excavator, unveiled at Bauma

Peter Haddock caught up with Pieter Staadegaard to find out more about the new machine 

 Pieter: “We designed this machine from scratch, so we integrated a lot like 3D machine control systems, automatic greasing, and smart hydraulic blocks that allow for fast coupling with tiltrotators. The machine itself can work up to 11 hours on a full charge.” 

“And we’ve made it smaller, yet more efficient, thanks to smarter hydraulics and our work with ZF Group on a new electric drive system. That alone saved us 28% in energy use compared to previous models.”

“Safety wise if a person enters your working zone, the joystick vibrates gently at first, then stronger, until the machine automatically stops if necessary.”

There’s even a ‘drone view’ camera system, providing a top-down jobsite perspective, plus integrated lighting that can be customised to light up the jobsite ‘like a Christmas tree’ if that’s what the customer wants!”

Maximum Deployment Time: It works for up to 11 consecutive hours without recharging in between.

24/7 Work Capacity: with the replaceable Fusion Powerbox 300 that can also function as an independent and self-contained power source completely separate from the machine. 

Compact and Agile: Compact upper carriage and new boom structure reducing the overall swing radius of the upper carriage by 74 centimetres compared to the regular 14-ton diesel equivalent.

Safety built in: AI-powered obstacle avoidance system, 360-degree camera system, and haptic feedback from the joysticks alerting the user to unsafe situations.
