Join us on an exhilarating winter hike from the charming village of Zermatt to the picturesque Riffelalp. This scenic trek offered breathtaking views of the iconic Matterhorn throughout the journey, providing an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Swiss Alps. This was a slightly challenging winter adventure that rewarded us with almost constant views of the majestic Matterhorn without the need for a Gornergrat train ride to Riffelalp.

Our hike began in Zermatt, Switzerland, Canton of Valais. As Zermatt is not accessible by car, we drove by car from Visp to Täsch, where we then transferred to a shuttle that took us to Zermatt. Alternatively, you can opt for the scenic train ride directly to Zermatt from Visp of Brig.

It's worth mentioning that this track is also available in summer, offering a different but equally captivating experience amidst the lush greenery of the Swiss Alps.
