Long hole drilling method :
In this method, the size of the raise is marked on the floor of upper
level. The center of the raise in the upper level roof and on floor.
Raising is through long hole.

Applicability:
length : 15-50m
inclination - very steep incline to vertical (55-90 deg)
long hole drill is performed by JUMBO Drill:
specification of drill:
jumbo raise drill
compressed air operated
dia of the hole 50 to 75mm
dia of center hole 100- 125mm
length of hole equal to length of raise

working cycle:
Drilling : throughout the whole length of rise
Charging & blasting : wooden/steel plug, explosive, detonator, stemming material, 3-6m length per blast.
Ventilation: cleaning the blasting fumes
Mucking : It will be done after each blast
Dressing & support - Raise will be dressed & supported after complete excavation

Disadvantage - protection against misfire is difficult.
