Several bands that made it into my digital playlist gradually had the chance to be seen live. Indeed, Mexico City is the perfect playground to discover indie music gigs from around the world. Many artists often start their tours here in Mexico. I wonder if this is just a matter of regional preference or based on data gathered from various music streaming aggregators.
Last night, I had been waiting eagerly for the song “Politix” to be performed by the New Zealand duo @balubrigada . Their performance truly hypnotized the youth in Mexico City, making everyone sing along together.
We were also surprised during Balu’s early songs when we realized that stand next to us was Joscha Becker, the vocalist and keyboardist of the Stuttgart-based German band @zimmer90music , quite a rare moment. And tonight, they will be performing their own show in Mexico City. Viel Glück für heute Abend!
