The Irish Guards held the honour of trooping their colours before HM the Queen and the Royal Family this year, parading with the rest of the Household Division down the Mall and across Horse Guards parade for the occasion. It was a sweltering day, though certainly not lethargic, as eager spectators lined the streets and cheered on the men and their Sovereign. Some of which (myself included) had been waiting from 6.30am (or even earlier!) to secure their front-row spots. Despite standing in the heat for nearly 8 hours, being pressed against the fence by the sheer masses of humanity, and suffering a terrible sunburn, I daresay it was an excellent time and wonderful performance of dignity and martial standing.

The footage I offer you today is actually out of order, with the parading from Horse Guards coming first, then the passing of Prince Harry, the Duchess of Cambridge, and other members of the Royal family, with the individual units parading to the parade grounds and the deployment of sentries last. This is only because I assume that the majority of viewers would be most interested in seeing HM the Queen and her Royal Family, as well as the Massed Bands of the Foot Guards. So, it would be best to leave those at the front. -
